Children's Ski School Information

Group Lessons

These are offered for children (aged 4 to 12) and adults (13 years +) for all levels from beginners to competition. The timings for the coming year are as follows:

Although classes start on a Sunday you can join in at anytime throughout the week with the exception of beginners who must start by Monday morning at the latest

With the exception of the Piou Piou Club (see below), all other ski lessons meet on the mountain and you will require a Les Contamines/Hautleuce ski pass. These are free for children under 5 on production of their passports or other proof of age.

Group classes are offered in a number of languages, including English.

Private Lessons

These can be arranged for individuals or groups of up to 8 people and are often a better option if you are skiers of similar ability or if you prefer to have the one-on-one attention of an instructor. Lessons can be booked for 1 hour or for the whole duration of your stay. ESF claim that they only provide private lessons outwith the group lesson hours; however, with the exception of New Year and Half Term we can usually arrange lessons to suit our clients. Children

Children aged 4 and under have their ski lessons at the Piou Piou club which meets in the village. It is possible to combine ski lessons with childcare in the village creche.

Child Care Options

Children's Group Lessons are offered from aged 4 to 12. However, the ski school will accept children slightly younger if the parents think their children are up to it. The youngest children are kept in a fenced off 'jardin de neige' area. Older children are taken onto the green pistes close to the areas where they are dropped off. Obviously as they progress they will be taken off round the whole ski area. Sometimes, during the prime holiday weeks the classes seem huge. Please ensure that your children always take a snack with them - available from the chalet - and have either the chalet or your contact details in their pockets.
